Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7 on January 24, 2020. That means that you will no longer get software updates – in particular, security fixes. The official offer to upgrade to Windows 10 at no cost supposedly ended in July 2016, but Microsoft still offers a legitimate way to upgrade for free. I’ll tell you how.
